About.
A studio making veils by hand, in France, for weddings and special occasions. Every piece is one of a kind.
A Breton tradition
The idea behind Maison Voilette comes from Brittany, where covering the head with lace and tulle is an old gesture: the coiffe is worn for big occasions, passed down, and changes from one village to the next.
Wearing a veil over the head is nothing strange there. It is a familiar gesture, which the studio wanted to bring back in a veil for today.
A wedding, nothing to wear
It began with a wedding to prepare: a veil that suited, and nothing in the shops that looked like it. It had to be made, by hand.

In the studio
The studio works in small batches, by hand, in France. White birdcage netting, pearls sewn one by one, very strong thread, two good-quality gold bobby pins.
Six designs, named after flowers. Pieces vary slightly: no two are exactly alike.
What comes next
The studio stays small. A custom veil is possible, on quote.
